Camilla & Rose: Bringing People Together Through a Shared Laugh
Sometimes, a brand is just meant to find you. About 15 yrs ago, before I moved to the UK, I went to the annual Florida State Fair like I always did before moving to the UK. While there I was doing one of my favourite things: touring the areas where all the vendors who make their own fabulous wares are set up. When I saw the sign below, I knew I had to have it. That day I hung it up in the hallway of my new home so I could see it every day and be reminded to not focus on the hard, messy stuff that can easily bog us down, but to find the fun and funny people who make life worth living. When it was time to decide what I was going to bring with me when I moved to the UK in 2015, this framed sign was non-negotiable. It was coming to the UK regardless of whether George liked it. Since moving here, it has been hanging proudly in our laundry room as reminder to me and all who see it that life is meant to be lived with fun and laughter.

For those who might not be able to see the image of the sign, it reads "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming… Woo Hoo! What a Ride!"
Fast forward to early 2020. George and I were walking through the bustling Spring Buying Fair at the NEC, on our way to a completely different stand, when we stumbled upon a collection of cards that stopped us in our tracks. Every single design made us laugh out loud. Little did I know, the magic behind those cards—the Camilla & Rose collection—came from British artist and cartoonist Sarah Boddy, who famously shares that exact same wild, wine-loving, chocolate-in-hand outlook on life!

Right then and there, we knew we had to bring them back to Shrewsbury. We placed our very first order to fill a modest 24-card spinner, and over the years, that spinner has proudly grown to hold 48 of our favourite designs. Based in Market Harborough, Sarah draws inspiration from real life and her own close friendships to create hilarious watercolour and pencil illustrations centred around two best friends, Camilla and Rose, navigating the everyday antics of modern adulthood. Her signature style perfectly captures the quirks, joys, and occasional frustrations of growing older and surviving family life with a healthy dose of humour.

Today, our collection includes everything from highly relatable milestone age cards for men and women to general birthday cards and special family relations like Mum, Dad, and Sister. One of our favourite parts of the day is working at the till counter and listening to our customers giggle as they browse through all her amazing designs. They are truly the kind of cards that bring people together through a shared laugh—which is exactly why we fell in love with them in the first place.

We hope that as you browse our curated collection of funny Camilla & Rose cards, you not only find exactly what you’re looking for, but that you too are reminded of the things that truly make life special: good people, fun and laughter."
